Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center is pleased to announce the acceptance of Dr. Joselin Tacastacas to the American Society for Dermatological Surgery (ASDS) accredited fellowship program in Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery. This exciting opportunity for a surgical cosmetic dermatology fellowship will take her to Brooklyn, New York on July 24, 2021, where she will be training with physician experts associated with Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for the next twelve months. She will return in 2022, bringing a wealth of new information and knowledge, and ready to share her expertise with Peninsula Dermatology patients again.
Dr. Tacastacas
Dr. Joselin Tacastacas is a board certified dermatologist at Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center since 2017. Her special areas of interest include skin cancer prevention and early detection. Dr. Tacastacas practices General Dermatology with special interest in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and other skin cancers. Read more about Dr. Tacastacas.
About the Fellowship
ASDS accreditation confirms and recognizes cosmetic dermatologic surgery fellowship programs that meet high-quality standards and promotes practices that provide the proper training and expertise to perform cosmetic dermatologic surgery procedures.
The Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship Accreditation curriculum emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge and skills in specific categories: wrinkles and folds, rejuvenation, resurfacing, veins, body contouring, lifting, hair treatments and scar revision.
The cosmetic dermatology fellowship requires one calendar year of training, participation in 300 cosmetic dermatologic surgery cases and observation of 1,000 cases under direct supervision.
The program is designed to educate dermatologists in advanced cosmetic dermatologic surgery procedures and inspire the skills and enthusiasm required to maintain a lifelong commitment to continuing education in the field of cosmetic dermatologic surgery.
