Improve the appearance and texture of your skin without surgery

TREAT SUN EXPOSURE AND IMPROVE SKIN TEXTURE

Intense pulsed light therapy, also known as photo rejuvenation, is used to target the tiny dilated blood vessels that cause flushing, blushing and redness on the face, neck, chest, back and arms. This cosmetic procedure can help improve the appearance and texture of your skin without surgery. IPL also helps treat lentigines, the flat brown spots on face, arms and hands, which are caused by sun exposure.

How Does Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy Work?

The treatment utilizes multiple wavelengths of light energy to target specific areas of your skin. After a topical anesthetic or chilling gel is applied to clean skin, your dermatologist uses a handheld device to deliver the light energy to your skin. Patients should limit their sun exposure for several weeks immediately before and after treatment. Treatments may need to be postponed if you have a tan or artificial tan.

What Does Intense Pulsed Light Therapy Treat?

The procedure treats a wide range of skin conditions. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Age spots

  • Sun damage spots (also called liver spots)

  • Redness from rosacea

  • Birthmarks

  • Broken blood vessels on the face

  • Varicose veins and spider veins

  • Acne

  • Discolored skin

  • Freckles

  • Scars
