Stephanie Castillo, MD, is a board certified dermatologist with a wealth of experience in medical dermatology. Her expertise spans a broad range of skin conditions, including acne, psoriasis and eczema. This means that she’s not only well-equipped to diagnose and treat common dermatological issues but also capable of handling more complex cases.
Dr. Stephanie Castillo’s Education
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Dr. Castillo headed to New Hampshire to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Dartmouth College. She then pursued her Doctor of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School.
Despite her fondness for rural New England, Dr. Castillo embraced the opportunity to relocate to the Hampton Roads area for her dermatology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. During her residency, she even had the distinction of serving as chief
resident, showcasing her leadership and expertise in the field.
As a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the National Psoriasis Foundation and a member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society, Dr. Castillo is actively involved in the dermatological community. These affiliations underline her dedication to staying updated with the latest advancements in dermatology and her desire to provide the best care to her patients.
Her Treatment Philosophy
Dr. Castillo’s approach to dermatology goes beyond simply treating conditions; she’s passionate about building lasting connections with her patients. Her commitment to patient education is evident in her practice, especially when it comes to skin cancer prevention and overall skin health.
Her commitment to advancing dermatology is further demonstrated by her contributions to scientific research. She has authored several publications on the use of molecular techniques to diagnose melanoma and other topics within the field of dermatology.
Outside of the Office
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Castillo enjoys running, working on home improvement projects, spending time with her husband and son, and baking.
