Dr. Jason Mazzurco is a board certified dermatologist and is fellowship trained in Mohs Surgery, serving the Hampton Roads community at Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Center. His special areas of interest include: dermatologic surgery, surgery of benign and malignant neoplasms of the skin, skin cancer, Mohs Surgery and reconstruction of surgical defects. Dr. Jason Mazzurco is dedicated to providing compassionate care and keeping up with the latest research and techniques in diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. He loves meeting and getting to know his patients, sharing stories and learning from them. Dr. Jason Mazzurco also loves working with his hands performing surgeries and the challenge of finding the best reconstructive options for the surgical defects that result from the removal of skin cancers.
Dr. Jason Mazzurco chose the field of dermatology as it is a great mix of office based medical and surgical medicine. On a medical mission trip to Honduras as a medical student, he was able to see many skin diseases and their various presentations in a population with limited medical care. This experience inspired him to learn more about the skin and how it is affected by both internal and external influences.
In his free time, Dr. Jason Mazzurco enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, biking and golfing.

WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY
“I was very pleased with the cordial atmosphere and promptness of my operation. Everything was well explained before any procedures were performed. Thanks for making me feel comfortable during my visit”
“Courteous and friendly office staff who were willing to fit me in due to a concern about a suspicious mole. It turned out to be a minor skin growth but no one but made me feel awkward about wanting to be seen quickly. I appreciate that.”
“I have been seen by several doctors here because of recurring squamous cell carcinomas and each doctor, nurse and office staff I have interacted with has been patient, compassionate, kind and professional on every occasion. I am pleased that the doctors take adequate time with me to explain what I need to know.”
“My mom had cancerous growth removed from her arm. The staff was very efficient and friendly throughout the process. It isn’t normal at most doctors offices for someone to greet you unless they are taking care of you. We were spoken to more than once by others in the office A very nice experience for a scary situation.”
“Always find this practice to be beyond friendly. They are professional and always make you feel comfortable.”
