Chief Executive Officer

Mike | Chief Executive Officer

Mike joined Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center in 2026. Originally from South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!), he and his family have called Yorktown, Virginia home since 1998.

With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare management, Mike’s leadership has consistently been grounded in a patient-first philosophy, prioritizing the needs of patients and their families above all else. He is proud to be part of the dedicated team at Peninsula Dermatology, where a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care has established the practice as a trusted leader in dermatologic and medical care across the Tidewater region.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys traveling with his wife, playing golf, and spending time enjoying the outdoors.

Allison

Chief Financial Officer

Allison | Chief Financial Officer

Allison joined the Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center team after transitioning from a career in Nursing Home Administration. A native of Newport News, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Health Services Administration. She is a Certified Medical Practice Executive through the Medical Group Management Association and brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to her role. As Chief Financial Officer, Allison enjoys streamlining operations and finances while keeping quality patient care at the center of every decision.

Outside of work, Allison can usually be found traveling with her husband to random stadiums to watch their son play baseball. When she’s not at the ballpark, she’s catering to her two Chihuahuas, who are adorable, tiny agents of chaos. She enjoys reading psychological thrillers and occasionally giving that suspicious roadside bag the kind of dramatic, over-the-shoulder glance that says, “I could investigate…but I’m wearing nice shoes.”

Shanequwe

Newport News Office Manager

Shanequwe | Newport News Office Manager

Shanequwe worked in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field for a few years, which sparked her interest in the medical field. She started at a busy ophthalmologist practice as an office manager, has an Associate Degree in Accounting, and is MAT, HIPAA and OSHA certified. Shanequwe loves the interaction with patients every day. Working with patients from all walks of life has always been a passion of hers, and patient care is one of her top priorities.

Shanequwe finds the best part about working in the medical field is seeing patients smile. A smile can make someone’s day, and she will go out of her way to make sure patients go home with a smile. Shanequwe understands that every day won’t be a good day, but she can always try to make their day better. She believes you should treat people the way you want to be treated and that a smile costs nothing to give. Shanequwe always strives to provide the best possible patient experience.

Shanequwe grew up in Newport News, and then traveled the world for eleven years before returning to Virginia. Italy was her favorite place. A very peaceful person, Shanequwe loves warm, tropical water, traveling and eating new foods. She is a mother of two amazing daughters, that she truly loves. Shanequwe is thankful every day and believes you’re never too old to learn something new.

Williamsburg Office Manager

Adela | Williamsburg Office Manager

Adela is the Office Manager of our Williamsburg office and brings more than a decade of healthcare experience to the Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center team. She is a wealth of knowledge and dedication and is genuinely committed to patient-centered care. She takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for patients, supporting our team and ensuring the office operates smoothly and efficiently.

Outside of work, Adela enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to different countries and reading. Her love of learning, connecting with others and helping people is reflected in both her professional and personal life.

Shannon

Clinical Director

Shannon | Clinical Director

Shannon joined Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center in 2014 searching for new healthcare opportunities, although her passion was Nutrition, she discovered a new love for Dermatology almost instantly. Shannon has been a Certified Medical Assistant since 2002 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree from South University. Shannon takes pride in guaranteeing that quality patient care is always provided within the clinic. Shannon is married to a United States Airforce Veteran and has raised 3 amazing children whom she is extremely proud of. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Bella, early morning walks, journaling and listening to podcasts.

Payroll & Benefits Manager

Davia | Payroll & Benefits Manager

Davia has been part of the team at Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center since 1998. She started out in our insurance department because she loves working with numbers so it made sense to move into the payroll department when the opportunity came around. She loves that there is always something new to learn!

Davia is married and a proud mother to her son and grandmother to three grandsons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working with plants, relaxing and spending time with her grand boys.

Katrina

Billing Manager

Katrina | Billing & Insurance Manager

Katrina joins Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center as the billing manager. She has been a Certified Professional Coder since 2007 and enjoys working behind the scenes to help patients with billing and coding. Always willing to help and answer any questions, Katrina values being able to help patients with their financials so they can focus on their health. In her free time, Katrina enjoys spending time with her children and family, singing karaoke and having movie nights.

Dee D

Assistant Clinical Director

Dee D | Assistant Clinical Director

Dee D joined the Peninsula Dermatology Skin Cancer Surgery Center team in 2021 and recently transitioned to the role of Assistant Clinical Director. She brings extensive expertise and more than 25 years of experience in the medical field. Dee D truly loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction she has.

She believes healthcare is about more than the clinical side. It is also about making people feel seen, cared for and comfortable. Whether she’s supporting her amazing team or chatting with patients, Dee D always tries to bring a little warmth and a lot of laughter to the office. She firmly believes that a good sense of humor can go a long way on a tough day and is the best medicine.

When she’s not at work, Dee D is a busy mom to four wonderful adult kids and a GiGi to four equally wonderful grandchildren. They are all her favorite people and her biggest joy.
