The Nordlys™ System utilizes four different types of technologies to reduce the appearance of dark spots and redness and resurface the skin. As an FDA-approved technology, this cosmetic system can help patients achieve glowing skin without invasive techniques and with little to no downtime.

What Technologies Does Candela Nordlys™ Offer?

There are four main technologies that make up this cosmetic system. Each technology can target different skin concerns, from birthmarks to irregular pigmentation. Technologies include:

SWT® (Selective Waveband Technology) IPL: This intense pulsed light therapy technology targets skin imperfections using narrow light wavelengths. Compared to other IPLs, SWT® is less hot on the skin and requires fewer sessions to achieve desired results.

Frax 1550™ and Frax 1940™: These two lasers can resurface the skin using small bursts of energy, with little downtime or discomfort.
Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser: This technology can address a variety of skin imperfections such as veins and spots. During application, a stream of cool air (also known as SoftCool™) is released for a more comfortable treatment experience.

Nordlys™ Light & Bright™

One of the most popular combinations with this system is the Light & Bright™ treatment. Light & Bright™ combines the SWT® IPL and the Frax 1550™ lasers on the face and chest areas to resurface and rejuvenate the skin by removing redness, dark spots and textural irregularities. Light & Bright™ encourages natural collagen production and gives the skin a more youthful, smoother appearance with little to no downtime. According to Candela, a clinical study found that 100% of participants who used Light & Bright™ saw a lightening of their pigmentation and a reduction in vascular appearance. Patients who undergo Light & Bright™ treatment typically require three sessions to achieve their desired results.
